Food, care and new bonds with the dogs of Karantina
كل حياتها الكرنتينا كانت المنطقة لغير المرغوب فيهم.
اليوم صارت بيت لأكثر من 150 كلب، منن خلق هونيك ومنن انكب بعد الكورونا والأزمة والهجرة.
كلن غير مرغوب فيهم بالمدينة.
Karantina has historically been the land of the forsaken.
It is now home to over 150 dogs, some of whom were born there, while others were abandoned during the pandemic, the economic crisis, or after their owners left.
None are welcome in the city.
بعدها الكلاب الشاردة بتشكّل مصدر قلق وخوف بالمخيّلة الشعبية.
وكلاب الكرنتينا منن استثناء، بينضربوا وبيتسمّموا وبينقتلوا.
بس مع الوقت، بلّشت تخلق علاقات بين الناس والكلاب، روابط طبيعية بين كائنات متروكة بالكرنتينا.
Stray dogs have always been a source of anxiety and fear in the popular imagination––and the dogs of Karantina are no exception. They are abused, beaten, poisoned or killed.
But with time, relationships began to form between humans and these dogs, natural bonds between beings left to fend for themselves in Karantina.
الكلاب بحاجة لعناية وأكل، بتقدمهم حالياً جمعيّة «اليرز بيت كلوب» بمنطقة الكرنتينا.
مع ارتفاع عدد الكلاب المتروكة من أصحابها وأزمة مآوي الكلاب، الحل هو الاهتمام فيهم بالشوارع، مثل ما عم تحاول تعمل عدد من الجمعيّات والمبادرات.
Dogs need care and food, which are currently provided by Alyarz Pet Club (APC) in Karantina.
With the growing crisis of abandoned dogs and overcrowded shelters, many organizations and initiatives are now taking care of dogs in the streets.
ما في حل إلّا بتغيير نظرة المجتمع تجاه الكائنات وتجاه الطبيعة، من نظرة استغلال وخوف وقرف، لعلاقة أكثر طبيعية مع محيطنا البيئي.
مجتمع ما بيقدر يشوف معاناة الحيوانات هو مجتمع ما بيقدر يشوف معاناة، مجتمع مقطوع نع طبيعته، مجتمع قاسي.
The only solution is to change society’s view of non-human beings and nature, from one of exploitation, fear and disgust, to one more sensitive to our relationship with our shared natural habitat.
A society that is unable to see the suffering of animals is a society unable to see suffering, a society cut from its nature, a cruel society.
